Adult Sports

The YMCA offers a variety of sports activities for adults.  Attention parents of young children, we offer FREE childcare while you work out, click here for more information.

 

Adult Basketball 

Players 16 years of age or older interested in playing moderately-competitive basketball are invited to join other adults at the YMCA. The players on the court organize the games. Basketball is played in the Y’s gymnasium throughout the year.

Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00am-7:45am
Tuesdays 6:00-8:30pm

The Outdoor Courts at the Y, with a full-size basketball court, will open as soon as the weather allows in the spring and remain open in the fall as long as possible. The outdoor basketball court is open to the entire community; no Y membership is required.

 

Lap Swim 
Our 5-lane, 25-yard pool is available for lap swim throughout the week.
Morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends vary; please check
pool schedule.

 

Pickleball 
A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.
Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It can be played indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball may be played as doubles or singles.
Pickleball is played in the Y’s gymnasium during winter months. Pickleball paddles and plastic balls are available for checkout at the Y’s membership desk.  
 
The Outdoor Courts at the Y, with ten pickleball courts, open in the spring as soon as weather allows and will remain open through the fall as long as possible. A schedule for the Outdoor Courts will be posted upon opening; the courts are available to the entire community and no Y membership is required.
 
 
Racquetball
We have two racquetball courts available throughout the day. You may reserve a court up to one week in advance for up to two hours.  Call 218-327-1161 to reserve a court or stop by the Membership Desk.
 
Judo  
For ages 16 years and older
Everyone is invited to learn the Japanese self-defense sport of Judo. Beginner, intermediate and advanced are welcome to come learn basic holds, throws, break falls, safe falls, injury prevention and balance. There are tournament opportunities as students progress. Instructor: Chris Kennedy

Class meets on Saturdays:
8:30am-10:00am for those 16 years old and up

Karate

Kids 10 years and up along with adults can learn some self-defense, get physically fit and gain confidence by joining in this traditional Japanese Karate class. Wear comfortable clothing or purchase a uniform.

Intermediate/Advanced class will be held Tuesday & Thursday June 4 - August 29 (No beginner class for summer)
