Y Membership Information

When dealing with life’s daily demands, people need a place to go where they can feel supported and receive help in trying times. A place where adults can find life balance; children can reach their full potential; seniors can be active and find camaraderie; and families can connect and strengthen relationships. By becoming involved with the Itasca County Family YMCA, individuals have the opportunity to improve their health and well-being and connect with the community, all while participating in their favorite program or activity at the Y.

The mission of the Itasca County Family YMCA is to strengthen ourselves, families and communities by promoting growth in spirit, mind and body. We are a community that is dedicated to helping individuals to achieve that balance of spirit, mind and body. We encourage everyone to get involved by joining the Y where they can take advantage of the resources and support to be healthy and connected.

As a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y seeks to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Members may sign up for free wellness orientations and instruction to use our weight equipment and cardio equipment, however there is a fee for personal training sessions. Not sure which is right for you? Contact our Wellness Staff and they can help guide you.

We have exciting news for our Y families! We have had many, many requests over the years to allow younger youth in our Wellness Center, and we have now been approved to allow our 12 and 13-year-old members in the Wellness Center upon completion of a training session. The 14-year-old requirement will remain in place for the Strength Room. Training sessions are offered on a monthly basis. Once the youth member has completed the training, they will receive a wrist band which must be worn when they are in the Wellness Center. The youth are responsible for their bands and must bring the band to the Y in order to be allowed in the Wellness Center. Replacement bands may be purchased for $5.00. The bands will need to be worn until the member turns 14. We are thrilled to be able to offer this additional fitness opportunity to our young members. However, the youth must take this opportunity seriously and exhibit appropriate behavior in the Wellness Center. If problems arise, the Wellness Center privilege may be revoked.

The training sessions will focus on proper use of our equipment and appropriate behavior in the Wellness Center. Youth 12/13 year old can drop in on the 1st or 3rd Tuesday of every month after school to receive an orientation starting around 3:30pm.
